OpenMetadata provides a Web UI application to discover and collaborate around data assets of an organization. With OpenMetadata Chrome Browser extension, metadata is at fingertips of the users, they contextually get the dashboard documentation, ownership, tags etc.. by just clicking on the OpenMetadata browser extension. Data Collaboration never been easier for users of OpenMetadata can now user the browser extension to see the tasks assigned to them and reply on conversation threads and discover the data assets in their organization.

The latest version of OpenMetadata is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 319 active users. The initial version was launched on 2022-12-30.

HOW TO INSTALL OpenMetadata FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download OpenMetadata CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
