This nifty tool caters to individuals who prefer listening to content rather than reading it. It's especially beneficial for those with dyslexia, other learning disabilities, and children who are in the process of learning to read. Using TextSpeecher is a breeze. Simply navigate to the webpage you want to "listen" to, select the text you wish to hear, and click the TextSpeecher icon that appears nearby. A compact player will pop up in your browser window, offering options to start, pause, or stop playback. If you'd like to customize your experience, you can change the voice, adjust the reading speed and pitch, or enable text highlighting. Access these settings by clicking the Gear button on the extension popup (note that you need to stop playback to see the Gear button).

The TextSpeecher : Text to Speech extension was removed from the Chrome Web Store on 2024-04-26. At the time of removal, it had 646653 users. The initial version was launched on 2023-10-23.

HOW TO INSTALL TextSpeecher : Text to Speech FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download TextSpeecher : Text to Speech CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
