SUMMARY

This Chrome extension collects data from Twitter for our research study on the effects of Twitter's personalization algorithm. The link to this extension is only shared with participants who have consented to being in the study. The study is being conducted by researchers at UC Berkeley and was approved by IRB review under the Committee for Protection of Human Subjects protocol ID number 2021-09-14618. The latest version of Twitter Data Collector is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 66 active users. The initial version was launched on 2022-02-16.

HOW TO INSTALL Twitter Data Collector FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Twitter Data Collector CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
