Open Source BTC Ticker

SUMMARY

This is an open source price tracker for the Bitcoin (BTC) asset on the Bitcoin Blockchain, no invasive browser permissions are required to run this extension, all code is publicly viewable on GitHub: https://github.com/JayWelsh/os-browser-btc-ticker I made this because I couldn't find a tool which does this which is also open source. Data is retrieved from the following CoinGecko endpoint: https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/simple/price?ids=bitcoin&vs_currencies=usd

The latest version of Open Source BTC Ticker is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 19 active users. The initial version was launched on 2021-04-21.

HOW TO INSTALL Open Source BTC Ticker FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Open Source BTC Ticker CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
