SUMMARY

I created the extension to solve the problem with YouTube like/dislike rating system (especially since the dislike number was removed from YouTube). My solution is a convenient star rating system in the form of a browser extension that allows you to rate YouTube videos from 1 to 5 stars and see their ratings. The difference between the rating systems is subtle, yet significant. *Star rating* - we associate it with quality. If you see a video rated with 5 stars, you will think it is excellent quality. *Like/dislike rating* - we associate it with preference. If you see a video that received some "likes", you will think some people prefer it, without necessarily associating it with quality. The latest version of YouTube Star Rating is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 322 active users. The initial version was launched on 2022-01-05.

HOW TO INSTALL YouTube Star Rating FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download YouTube Star Rating CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
