This extension modifies the default encoding, useful for chrome 55+ which removed this standard feature.

Optionally specify which webpage you'd like to apply the default encoding.

If you need an additional encoding that's not included, send a note in the comments. Specify the exact one you need according to the IANA character set naming (http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets/character-sets.xhtml) and we can add it for you.

The latest version of Webpage Default Encoding Changer is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 1,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2017-01-09.

HOW TO INSTALL Webpage Default Encoding Changer FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Webpage Default Encoding Changer CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
