A lightweight extension to save you some memory and increase your browser performace. Great if you have a lot of tabs open at the same time. The extensions automatically freezes unused tabs freeing up big amount of memory they hold. Built from open source code for full transparency This extension requests the following permissions: • Read and change all your data on the websites that you visit. This is necessary to detect tabs that contain unsaved form input. This enables the extension to prevent these tabs from suspending automatically. • Read and change your browsing history. This is necessary to keep the extension from creating redundant items in the users history when suspending tabs. By installing the extension, you agree to its Privacy Policy (https://tabmemoptimizer.site/privacy.html).

The TabMemoryOptimizer extension was removed from the Chrome Web Store on 2024-06-13. At the time of removal, it had 20000 users. The initial version was launched on 2019-12-09.

HOW TO INSTALL TabMemoryOptimizer FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download TabMemoryOptimizer CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
