Simple chrome extension that gives you the IP address of the server where the current page was received from - great for switching hosts file between local, development, QC, and live servers that require the same url.

Similar to ShowIP for Firefox. A difference from ShowIP is that Chrome does not leave enough room to automatically show the full IP address. For this reason just the last segment is shown automatically but the full IP address is available by clicking on the icon. You can also assign a mnemonic / abbreviation and colors through the Options panel.

Note that it requires some type of network traffic with the site before it will register the IP address.

The latest version of Server IP is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 7,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2013-07-03.

HOW TO INSTALL Server IP FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Server IP CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
