SUMMARY

A badge of your current country is shown on the icon, which will refresh every 3s. So you can easily see, if you have a broken VPN or proxy connection when the country-code changes unexpectedly. Additionally a notification appears on your desktop when one of your IP addresses (IPv4 or IPv6) has changed - of course, it can be turned off in settings.

You can also display your position on a map by clicking the corresponding button next to the IP address.

Your user agent is shown in the entries as well.

The request to the server to obtain your geolocational information is secured at least with TLSv1. Also Perfect Forward Secrecy is enabled.

The latest version of IP Address & Geolocation is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 9,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2020-04-10.

HOW TO INSTALL IP Address & Geolocation FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download IP Address & Geolocation CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
