SUMMARY

HKUL Search Assistant helps you to search HKU Libraries Catalogue and other popular search engines within your current page. Access from a non-HKUL website, such as a Publisher’s website, would not trigger the HKUL login page, and you will be asked to pay for access. HKUL Search Assistant identifies your affiliation with HKUL, you will need to route via the EZProxy server.

The latest version of HKUL Search Assistant is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 4,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2020-08-03.

HOW TO INSTALL HKUL Search Assistant FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download HKUL Search Assistant CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
