Disable Download Shelf

SUMMARY

Hides the downloads toolbar shelf from the bottom of the window and replaces it with a toolbar button which opens the downloads tab (similar to Firefox). On laptop displays the default downloads shelf that appears is too large and distracting. Now it can be disabled! This extension is free and open source.

The latest version of Disable Download Shelf is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 1,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2020-05-28.

HOW TO INSTALL Disable Download Shelf FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Disable Download Shelf CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
