SUMMARY
Tempest is a security-oriented extension for Chrome, whose primary goal is to analyze the code of malicious phishing pages, detect them and notify the user accordingly, so that no personal or financial data is ever compromised by the perpetrators behind those pages.
Tempest operates on the basis of a constantly expanded database of "malicious signatures" of phishing pages, which are derived by a new generation algorithm in real time.
What makes Tempest unique, is that as soon as a page is determined to be malicious by our team, its signature is added to our database, and from that point on, no matter how many times that page gets replicated on the Internet, it will invariably get instantly detected, without the need for prior URL analysis and URL reporting.
Tempest users can also contribute by reporting suspicious pages that they have landed on, and that haven't yet been investigated by our team. This community-based approach will ensure that even very high-quality phishing pages, that actively attempt to conceal themselves from being detected, will eventually be added to Tempest's database.
In order to use Tempest, you need to register an account, consisting of user ID and password only: no names or any other contact details are required. Registration takes less than 30 seconds.
A one-time registration fee of 2.99 USD is required to complete account activation. Once your payment is confirmed, full access to the functionality of the extension is granted.
