SUMMARY

The XKCD Alt Text extension makes it slightly easier to read the XKCD web comic. It's primary function is to add a description beneath the comic, so that you don't have to try and read the tiny hover text before it fades away. It can also move the header below the comic, to increase visibility. This feature can easily be disabled. Update 2.8.1: Works over HTTPS

The latest version of XKCD Alt Text is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 646 active users. The initial version was launched on 2014-01-26.

HOW TO INSTALL XKCD Alt Text FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download XKCD Alt Text CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
