New Tab Redirect

SUMMARY

A basic extension to redirect the 'New Tab' to an external site of your choosing.
Make sure you keep seeing your notes or important info when you're browsing.

A minimal extension; no background scripts or unnecessary permissions.

Backend Description:
The extension implements a temporary 'New Tab Page' that when loaded, immediately queries the extension storage for your set redirect page, and then proceeds to redirect.
Removed any background scripts so that it only runs when you initiate it.

The latest version of New Tab Redirect is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 605 active users. The initial version was launched on 2020-02-19.

HOW TO INSTALL New Tab Redirect FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download New Tab Redirect CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
