SUMMARY

SearchGPT is a prototype which gives you fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources. This extension will make SearchGPT your default search engine in Chrome.

Once SearchGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar. In order to re-direct a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]"
(e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

Designed to give you an answer: SearchGPT will quickly and directly respond to your questions with up-to-date information from the web while giving you clear links to relevant sources.You’ll be able to ask follow-up questions, like you would in a conversation with a person, with the shared context building with each query.

Users need to have access to the SearchGPT prototype for this experience to work.

The latest version of SearchGPT is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 4,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2024-07-30.

HOW TO INSTALL SearchGPT FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download SearchGPT CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
