JIRA - Open external links in a new tab

SUMMARY

Numerous users have requested this feature for JIRA but it has not - yet - landed on JIRA Cloud (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-9380). This is a tiny Chrome extension (less than 30 lines of code) - feedback is welcome!

* Opens external links in a new tab
* Internal links between Atlassian products should not be affected
* Ignores `mailto:` links

The latest version of JIRA - Open external links in a new tab is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 163 active users. The initial version was launched on 2019-10-21.

HOW TO INSTALL JIRA - Open external links in a new tab FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download JIRA - Open external links in a new tab CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
