grnDBLP

SUMMARY

grnDBLP extends DBLP's website with information about the carbon footprint generated by conferences. It is aimed at making the computer science community aware of the environmental impact behind conferences. To do so, it arranges in a map the flights taken by the authors of all the articles in a conference.

grnDBLP relies on third party services to obtain the data needed to calculate the footprint:
- Scopus (authors affiliation)
- Geocode.xyz, here and locationiq (geocoding)

The latest version of grnDBLP is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 13 active users. The initial version was launched on 2020-02-16.

HOW TO INSTALL grnDBLP FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download grnDBLP CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
