Friction

SUMMARY

Add a bit of friction to bad browsing habits. If you often find yourself unthinkingly checking the same sites over and over and seem to waste a lot of time there, this browser extension may help a bit. Blacklist sites that you want to discourage for yourself, and the extension will "lock" those sites for you. However, the point is not to shut you off entirely, but just to discourage it a bit by adding a small (configurable) delay before you can unlock the sites. Once unlocked, the sites will be available for a (configurable) time, after which you will have to unlock them again. Changes in 0.4: - Added a setting to automatically enable and disable at configurable times

The latest version of Friction is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 29 active users. The initial version was launched on 2018-03-21.

HOW TO INSTALL Friction FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Friction CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
