SUMMARY

Lighthouse is an open-source, automated tool for improving the performance, quality, and correctness of your web apps.

When auditing a page, Lighthouse runs a barrage of tests against the page, and then generates a report on how well the page did. From here you can use the failing tests as indicators on what you can do to improve your app.

The latest version of Lighthouse is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 1,000,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2019-11-19.

HOW TO INSTALL Lighthouse FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download Lighthouse CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
