UPF Survey

SUMMARY

This extension is part of a study conducted by the Center for Economic Policy Research. The purpose of the extension is to better under how different individuals reach news sites. Study participants, after giving their consent for the data collection will install this extension. The extension will then execute searches for specific queries and collects the results. No information on individuals besides search results and user location is collected. Some users have been invited to receive an award for installing this extension. Each user that completed the survey and received an invitation is eligible to receive up to one award. The latest version of UPF Survey is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 45 active users. The initial version was launched on 2023-07-20.

HOW TO INSTALL UPF Survey FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download UPF Survey CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
