RootsSearch allows you to search the most popular genealogy websites for records relating to your ancestors.

When viewing an ancestor in an online tree or a record from a genealogy website, RootsSearch allows you to search for matching records on other genealogy record sites. RootsSearch supports FamilySearch, Ancestry, and many more.

The latest version of RootsSearch is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 10,000 active users. The initial version was launched on 2019-02-08.

HOW TO INSTALL RootsSearch FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download RootsSearch CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
