This extension is to help FamilySearch become a better family history site.
This extension is for testing different functionality on FamilySearch.org by researchers, primarily originating from BYU.
No features of this extension will be enabled without being whitelisted or having a verification code.
FamilySearch.org UI will be the only UI changed at any time, and only upon approval by FamilySearch itself.

Others wanting to take place in the experimental UI changes may contact the researchers via email.

The latest version of BYU FamilySearch Testing is available on the Chrome web and is currently being used by 269 active users. The initial version was launched on 2023-03-07.

HOW TO INSTALL BYU FamilySearch Testing FROM A CRX FILE

1. Download BYU FamilySearch Testing CRX file
2. NOTE: Sometimes the browser may block downloading / installing CRX file from outside the Chrome Web Store. If so, you may need to download the ZIP file instead
3. In the URL bar, go to chrome://extensions
4. Enable Developer mode
